High Temperature Coatings
Question posed to an attendee at
SSPC convention:
“What is the biggest problem with high temperature coatings?”
Answer:
“They don't work.”
If you've dealt with generic
high temperature resistant coatings before then
you've undoubtedly felt the frustration that this
person felt. The failures and limitations of generic
high heat coatings are frequent and numerous: color
instability, lack of color availability, inability
to prevent corrosion under insulation, thin film
systems, heat cure issues, inability to apply directly
to hot steel, inability to withstand boiling water,
high VOC content, and lack of a surface tolerant
system, just to name a few.
The founding members of
our company have been in the high temperature coatings
industry for a combined total of more than thirty
years, and they set out to correct each deficiency
of generic high heat coatings. They succeeded.
The result—Hi-Temp Coatings Technology—has
risen to become the current leader in the formulation
of high temperature protective coatings.
On our website you will find coatings that can
be applied directly to hot steel at 500°F (260°C),
a single component product that can prevent corrosion
under insulation, topcoats available
in almost any color and stability to 1000°F (538°C), high
build systems, products that require no
complex post-cure, a material you can apply
directly to rust, and OEM coatings among
others. We are here to be a platform of knowledge
and welcome all inquiries regarding heat resistant
coatings. But most importantly, you will realize
that our company is dedicated towards one goal—solving
problems associated with high temperature coatings.
